Overheard....

Baby monitors are great eavesdropping tools. Today I overheard this conversation while the boys were upstairs:

J: "I want to be Robin Hood!"

TW: "No, J, you're Superman!"

J: "Okay, I'm Robin Superman! Super Robin can fly!"

Lookout bad lawmen!

Later I also learned a new word from J. "Hotpole" As in, "My monster truck is going in this hotpole." When I asked if he meant "pothole," he said, "No, he's dirty. He needs a bath, so he's going in this hotpole." Of course. At least the monster truck doesn't have to take a cold bath.

Babester's New Tricks

Babester (TW's new name for her last night) will be six months old tomorrow. (This is all going WAY too fast to suit me--I can't believe my little girl is already so big.) So in honor of her upcoming 1/2 year mark, I thought I'd show you some of her new tricks.

Chewing on French bread--yummy!

Sitting up by herself in the Boppy pillow...

Helping Mama fold laundry...yeh, I wish!

And, drumroll, please.....

ROLLING OVER! Look out world! (and Mama)

In other news, E almost whacked his left thumb off with the hatchet Saturday. Thankfully he didn't, but we spent 3 hours in the ER so they could almost make him pass out scrubbing it and then tell us, "Yep, you almost whacked your thumb off." He hit it about halfway up the thumbnail and cut clear through the nail and chipped off the end of the bone, but didn't go all the way through. They couldn't stitch it because of the nail, so we're keeping it clean and bandaged and it should heal okay. It doesn't hurt unless he bumps it, so he's doing fine. I have pictures, if you're interested, but they look pretty gross, so I'm not posting them (E doesn't think I need to send that much gruesomeness into all of cyberspace). If you are morbidly curious and want to see, though, email me at (myfirstname).(mylastname)@gmail.com and I'll send them to you individually!

Wrestle Mania

Monday, TJ moaned, "Are you ever going to take pictures of us again?!", so this one's for you, T! I guess sister love only goes so far when she's the only one getting camera attention.

If you ever wonder what young boys like to do, the answer is wrestle. With their shirts off. At least as Mom, I'm exempt from wrestle mania unless I'm really in the mood, but E has to take it like a man.

I feel very well protected with these muscle men around.

Regular Girl (but cute!)

It's been so fun seeing all the amazing photos Kristina created of our beautiful girl, but to keep us all grounded and our heads out of the Baby Gap ad clouds I thought I'd post a couple cereal shots from today. She now eats cereal and an array of orange vegetables. I don't think she was too happy I interrupted her meal to play with my camera (I'm quite inspired to learn how to use it now!). Or, maybe these looks are because I made her try peas today--yuck. I'm trying to get a video of her talking, but every time I get the camera out, she shuts up and stares....maybe soon!

Home Again

Hello. I'm home again. For those of you who don't know, I went to Florida for the weekend to visit my good friend and former college roommate, Kristina. It was a trial getting there, but it was worth it. I had a wonderful time and enjoyed the chilly (but not cold!) sunshine, playing with the girls, seeing the "plumps" (manatees), photo ops with my girl, and just being away and having a fun time with a good friend. Thanks, Kristina! I love you! (Even if you do make fun of me all the time...) I wasn't quite ready to come home, but E wouldn't let me stay any longer.....thanks, honey! I am somewhat refreshed, though, so maybe I can face the rest of the winter now....Kristina is an awesome photographer and took some great pictures of A--for a sneak preview, you can visit Kristina's blog at www.kwpix.com I have to go make TJ's lunch now...back to the real world.
