Happy Fall!

Lovin' my new kitchen.

It's been 3/4 of a year in the making, with the help of many family members, many dollars, and the super amazing cabinetry skills of my brother, but it is done!! Well, almost, if you don't count some electrical work, backsplashes, and a little more painting...and I love, love it. And it is the jewel of the house, by far. And always will be. But that's ok, since it's where I spend most of my home time. Except doing laundry, and I have no intentions of fancying up the laundry room. These photos don't do it justice, but will give you an idea. Maybe I'll take pictures with my good camera and show off some of the details later, but knowing me, this may be all you get.

Little worms eat dirt.
Big fishes eat little worms.
Gollumses eat fish.



Not particularly speaking of nature and seasons in the true Japanese form, but fairly appropriate for my 3rd and 5th grade boys.  You should hear their limericks....

Celebrate! Part 2..

I've been on a whirlwind roadtrip with Miss A to a friend's and to visit my grandparents and family in TX, so it's taken me a while to get back to this, but here are some more party pics from the evening gala. My beautiful mother turned 60 last weekend and we had a surprise party weekend to celebrate and honor her. Here are some of the pics as well as the one Holly has been waiting for....

Never fear, the aunts are here! My 4 sweet aunts working HARD getting ready for the ladies tea.


Gorgeous tea place setting. (Thanks, Aunts!) The little bird pincushions (mostly my sis-in-law, Lisa's, handiwork) were the party favors.
